Education and Training Awards 2021
Education and Training Awards 2021 7 Construction Training Provider of the Year – South England With a reputation for providing high-quality plant training and facilities which are fabricated to suit the needs of every individual, BAM Construction Training (BAM) provides safety critical education to the construction industry. Offering a range of CPCS training courses, which are all designed to be relevant to the work carried out, BAM delivers the highest level of training through its team of instructors, who are experts in the industry. The three purpose-built training centres house the best machinery available to ensure that all training is engaging and relevant. “Our mission is to deliver the best possible training so that everyone we teach is prepared for the real world,” explains Director Matt Durant. “We have adopted the motto ‘Train Hard, Test Easy’ and we try to give each learner every opportunity of passing our courses and applying the lessons learnt to real life applications.” BAM is constantly monitoring industry best practices and guidelines to look for ways of improving its courses to ensure that they remain relevant. This, coupled with the fact that the organisation uses only experienced instructors, and invests heavily in its machinery and facilities, are what helps it to surpass the competition and differentiate itself from the crowd. “The education and training industry in our region is fairly competitive,” Matt elaborates. “In fact, there are several competitors within a 30-minute drive of our location, but we view this as a positive factor. The more competitors there are, the more important it is for us to stand ahead of the crowd!” And it seems that this is just what BAM is achieving given the amount of five-star reviews it receives from happy customers. Being part of the construction industry during Covid-19 has had its advantages, and the future of the organisation looks very bright. Matt tells us more: “We’ve recently invested in around £150,000 worth of new machinery and invested heavily in the facilities at each of our training centres. Examples of these improvements include a planting scheme to promote biodiversity and mental wellbeing, new outdoor seating area with vending machines and a BBQ, and concrete walkways and fencing to highlight safe areas on site.” But why has BAM done this during a time of global turbulence? “We understand that there are some individuals who perhaps have been furloughed for a long period of time, perhaps lost their job through redundancy or perhaps desire a career change,” Matt explains. “We want to encourage people to our training centres, let them know what we’ve done to promote their wellbeing and that it is a safe environment, both from Covid-19 but also from the regular risks associated with construction.” BAM is also in the late stages of funding through the CITB, where it will be able to offer free places on its courses (subject to eligibility criteria). “This is a fantastic opportunity for us to help those that really need it, such as ex-offenders, school leavers, veterans, and the under- represented groups.” Contact: Matt Durant Company: BAM Construction Training Web Address: www.bamct.co.uk Apr21510 BAM Construction Training is a fully accredited CPCS Training, NPORS and Health & Safety/ CSCS test centre able to provide all sorts of plant training courses for the construction industry.
